Friday, March 22nd, was the Waverly Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Awards Celebration.

This year the East Bremer Diner was the recipient of the Distinguished Small Business Award.

Since buying the business in 2015, Matt Lamos has worked hard to bring about a culture at the diner that I think embodies exactly what this award is meant to showcase.

As a restaurant we want to be successful. We want to be the place people come to when they’re out celebrating a birthday, or anniversary, or any of life’s other milestones. We want to be your favorite place to just grab a bite or catch up with friends! Consistently great food is a main goal at the East Bremer Diner.

One of our other big goals is to be a positive presence in the community. Matt donates his time and talents to speak to classes at Wartburg College and at various schools in the Waverly-Shell Rock School District, the EBD sponsors 2 youth softball teams, and we have an annual goal of putting $10,000 back in to the community. It is important to us that we support the community that not only patronizes our business but is the community that we live and raise our own families in.

The entire staff at the East Bremer Diner is humbled and honored to have been nominated for and presented the Distinguished Business Award and look forward to living up to and exceeding that standard in the year to come.
